You can extract curves from polygon.
Unfortunately, you can extract only one curve at a time, but it's still useful when you need only small number of curves.
1. Select an edge loop.
2. Extract curve. Convert > Polygon Edges to Curve.

5. Next, I am going to tube out of the curves.
